RuffGuard™ has secured a second US patent, now for its update to its original stud isolator with integrated nail protection. RuffGuard QT reduces transfer of pipe vibration to the studs, cutting sound transfer from the wall cavity into occupiable space. Noise in occupiable spaces associated with running water is a growing concern in residential apartments, condos, medical, research, hospitality, and other commercial applications.
RuffGuard takes half the labor time to distribute on site and install versus a standard nail plate. Now RuffGuard QT incorporates sound dampening, further reducing time of installing a third product often specified by owners and developers. That translates into lower labor cost and faster delivery timelines.
RuffGuard satisfies IAPMO IGC193 and is compliant to 2027 UPC Table 1701.2. RuffGuard and RuffGuard QT is patented in the United States with patent pending in Canada and Australia. The name RuffGuard is trademarked.
